Product Format: Mixed Ensemble
The study of string instruments should include ensemble playing at the earliest possible stage. Much can be gained by playing duets. Each player can learn from the other, and develop an awareness of balance, musical phrasing, intonation and tonal quality. These duets can be used in string classes as a supplement to any standard string method. They are perfect for recitals, school functions, and just for fun and practice. They may be played by two players, or by multiple performers on each part, with or without piano accompaniment. The selections of folk tunes and classics are chosen for their beauty and technical value. They may be performed by two like instruments or any duet combination.
"Volume 3" of the series deals with 3rd position. The basic bowings as well as the staccato strokes are presented, and fluent shifting between the 1st and 3rd positions is developed. This product has a difficulty rating of 2-3 on a scale of 1 to 6 with 6 being the hardest. A piano accompaniment is available separately. |
